TO  LOVE  THE  LORD  THY  GOD  -  Spiritually,  Part  11  quotes

1)     The Emotion of Love - in its Sexual Form - Dealing With Problems in Marriages

Problem #3 - Lack of Proper Government in the Marriage

God's word specifies a particular form of government that is to be implemented and followed in each and every marriage and family.  But because of the lack of one or more family members adopting and living under this Godly form of government, many marriages and families become unstable, and some even end in failure and ruin.

This Godly form of government in the marriage deals with two separate areas:

     -- 1. Religious issues

     -- 2. Non-religious issues

2)    Proper Marital Government in All Religious Matters

The form of government that God would have implemented in any marriage and family that pertains to all religious issues is outlined in the Scriptures as follows:

“...the head of Christ is God.”  1 Corinthians 11:3.

“And (God the Father) hath put all things under his (Jesus’) feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all....Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.  Therefore...the church is subject unto Christ”. Ephesians 1:22-23, 5:23-24.

“And he (Jesus) is before all things, and by him all things consist.  And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence....And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power”. Colossians 1:17-18, 2:10.

These Scriptures reveal that there is a chain of authority within the form of government dealing with all religious matters in any marriage.  At the top of this governmental chain of authority is God the Father, who is the Head of Jesus Christ.  Next in this chain of authority is Jesus Christ, who is the Head of the church.  And at the last end of this chain is the church itself.

3)   Who makes up this church and the body of Christ?

“And ye my flock, the flock of my pasture, are men, and I am your God, saith the Lord GOD.” Ezekiel 34:31.

“...before the house of God, there assembled unto him out of Israel a very great congregation of men and women and children”. Ezra 10:1.

“For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.” Galatians 3:26.

The flock or church and body of Christ is composed of men, women and children – everyone who has chosen to serve God and Christ by faith.  This means that the Head of every man, woman and child, which they are always to obey in every religious issue – no matter what relationship they may have with any other human being, is Jesus Christ, and ultimately God the Father.

No human being has any right to assume religious authority over any other human being, irregardless of age or relationship or church position, and then command them to do something that goes counter to the command and will of Jesus Christ and the Almighty!

“Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all they soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment.” Matthew 22:37-38.

“...Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.” Matthew 4:10.

4)   Can children disobey the authority and direct command of their parents if these commands conflict with the commands of God and Christ?  Yes!

“For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.  There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.  And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.” Galatians 3:26-29.

In Jesus Christ there is no distinction between one human being versus another, irregardless of whether they are male or female, or whether they are husband and wife, or whether they are adults, youth or children!  All men, women and children are the property of Christ and thus are on an equal basis of importance in Him.  This is because God and Christ are no respecter of persons!

“...God is no respecter of persons”. Acts 10:34.

“For there is no respect of persons with God.”  Romans 2:11.

“...your Master also is in heaven; neither is there respect of persons with him.” Ephesians 6:9.

5)   Since both God and Christ do not make exceptions in regards to the gender or age of their followers, then neither should any of the children of God make exceptions in religious matters dealing with their faith and their conscience!

“My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons....If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well: But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors.” James 2:1, 8-9.

6)   God and Jesus Christ are infinitely greater in religious authority than any human being.  As this is true, then what should you do if you find yourself being commanded to do anything that goes counter to God’s express will?

“Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye....(for) we ought to obey God rather then men.” Acts 4:19, 5:29.

“Beware of men: for they will deliver you up to the councils, and they will scourge you in their synagogues; And ye shall be brought before governors and kings for my sake...Fear them not therefore...Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.  But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.” Matthew 10:17-18, 26, 32-33.

So what does God tell you to do if your husband, or wife, or parents, or any other person tells you to do something you know is against the will and commands of God?  You are to politely, but firmly refuse to obey them.  So irregardless of whether they are the president, or dictator, or any other governmental leader; irregardless of whether they are a judge, or police, or other judicial or enforcement official; irregardless of whether they are the pope, priest, pastor, elder, teacher, or other religious leader; and irregardless of whether they are your husband, wife, earthly father or mother, or any other relative or friend: you are to obey God and Christ first and foremost in any religious issue rather than going against your faith and conscience by obeying any human being.

“Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD.” Jeremiah 17:5.

“Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.  But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.” Matthew 10:32-33.

The chain of authority in the government which God desires all of His followers to implement and submit to in their marriage in all religious issues is that the Head of Christ is God, and Christ is the Head of every man, woman and child composing His church and body.
