CHRIST  SUFFERED  FOR  YOU  and  ME  quotes

1)     “They drove the cruel nails through His hands and his feet”. Review and Herald, October 9, 1888, par 9.





2)    “The spotless Son of God hung upon the cross, His flesh lacerated with stripes; those hands so often reached out in blessing, nailed to the wooden bars; those feet so tireless on ministries of love, spiked to the tree; that royal head pierced by the crown of thorns...” Desire of Ages, p 755.1 (Chapter78 - Calvary).





3)   “...the blood drops that flowed from His head, His hands, His feet”. DA 755.1 (Chapter 78 - Calvary).





4)    “...His hair matted with blood, His pierced hands and feet, and their (disciples) anguish was indescribable." DA 772.3 (Chapter 80 - In Joseph’s Tomb).





5)   This was the only way that Christ saved each and everyone of you. He was willing to come down and suffer the second death for you!  He left all heaven to save you!





6)     “Crucify”- verb, to put to death by nailing or binding the hands and feet to a cross. Also an instrument of torture.





7)    "...offers Himself upon the cross as a sacrifice, and this from love to thee?  He, the sin bearer, endures the wrath of divine justice, and for thy sake becomes sin itself." DA 755-756 (Chapter 78 - Calvary).





8)    Our beloved Saviour endured agony, torture, and mocking to save all humanity.  That is love!





9)    "But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities...and with his stripes we are healed." Isaiah 53:5.

14)    Every time we commit sin, we open the lacerations to Christ’s perfect skin.  And we also tell Him to get back on the cross.





15)    “God loved the world so much, that he gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16.





16)    Christ paid the price, so that we could have what was His; which is everlasting life.  How does that make you feel - that a innocent person died for your wrong doing?





17)    “Stripped to the waist, His back showed the long cruel stripes, from which flowed the blood freely. His face was stained with blood, and bore the marks of exhaustion and pain..." DA 735.4 (Chapter 77 - In Pilate's Judgement Hall).





18)    Jesus Christ your Lord, was once clothed in majesty, was now wearing "a purple robe of mockery" (DA 736.3).  He was once crowned with a crown of gold, was now replaced with "a crown of thorns" (DA 734.1).  His back that was once perfect, now "showed the long cruel stripes, from which flowed the blood freely" (DA 735.4).  His face which once was perfect in every way, was now "stained with blood”. (DA 735.4).





19)    Christ paid the second death for you!  So why would you choose to continue to commit sin after sin?





20)    “...the cross which had been prepared for Barabbas, was laid upon His (Christ's) bruised and bleeding shoulders.” DA 741.4 (Chapter78 - Calvary).





21)    Every time we commit sin, we add these cruel stripes to our Saviour's back.  And every time we do this, Christ utters the words, “Father forgive them, for they know not what they do.” DA 744.2 (Chapter78 - Calvary).
