OUR  FATHER

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16.

"The Bible is the Revelation of God to our world, telling us of the character we must have in order to reach the paradise of God....At no period of time has man learned all that can be learned of the word of God.  There are yet new views of truth to be seen, and much to be understood of the character and attributes of God,--His benevolence, His mercy, His long forbearance, His example of perfect obedience....This is a most valuable study, taxing the intellect, and giving strength to the mental ability." Fundamentals of Christian Education, p 444.

"The knowledge of God as revealed in Christ is the knowledge that all who are saved must have.  It is the knowledge that works transformation of character.  This knowledge, received, will re-create the soul in the image of God.  It will impart to the whole being a spiritual power that is divine." Ministry of Healing, p 425.

So by knowing and understanding the true character and attributes of God the Father, we will be transformed and re-created in the image of God.  We would receive a spiritual power from God, and this knowledge is what we need to be saved.
Don't you think that Satan realizes this also, and is doing all he can to misrepresent the true character of the Father?  If he can deceive us into believing that the Father's character is different than what it really is, then how could we be re-created in the image of God?  How could we be saved?
"Satan is to work to misrepresent the character of God, that he may 'seduce, if possible the very elect.'" Testimonies, vol 5, p 746.

When did Satan start to misrepresent the Father's character?
"Sin originated in self-seeking.  Lucifer, the covering cherub, desired to be first in Heaven...Therefore he misrepresented God, attributing to Him the desire for self-exaltation...Because God is a God of justice and terrible majesty, Satan caused them to look upon Him as severe and unforgiving." Desire of Ages, p 21.

     Has he been successful?
"Thousands have a false conception of God and his attributes." Testimonies, vol 5, p 174.

What is one of the greatest lies that Satan has used to misrepresent the true character of the Father to us?  The eternal torment of the wicked, or the immortality of the soul with God being a tyrant ready to punish the sinner.
"...the way was prepared for Satan to work through his representatives and hold up God before the people as a revengeful tyrant,--one who plunges all those into hell who do not please Him...Satan knew that if this error should be received, God would be hated by many, instead of being loved and adored..." Early Writings, p 219.

Which other false doctrines have originated out of this great error?
"...many would be led to believe that the threatenings of God's word would not be literally fulfilled, for it would be against His character of benevolence and love...Another extreme which Satan has led the people to adopt is entirely to overlook the justice of God, and the threatenings in his word, and to represent Him as being all mercy, so that not one will perish..." Early Writings, p 219.

In other words "God does not kill or condemn"!  Are we seeing these false doctrines being advocated by Satan's representatives today?  Yes, and did you know that these advocates of "God does not kill or condemn" are actually, whether they know it or not, involved in and are preaching spiritualism!
"...spiritualism assents that...'God doth not condemn.'" Sons and Daughters of God, p 46.

Satan has truly been successful at misrepresenting God's character to the world.
"It is the darkness of misapprehension of God that is enshrouding the world.  Men are losing their knowledge of His character.  It has been misunderstood and misinterpreted." Christ's Object Lessons, p 415.

"We are not to think of God only as a judge and to forget Him as our loving Father.  Nothing can do our souls greater harm than this, for our whole spiritual life will be molded by our conceptions of God's character." That I May Know Him, p 262.

As this is true, that "our whole spiritual life will be molded by our conceptions of God's character," it is extremely important that we have the correct conception and understand what our heavenly Father's character is really like.  That is why in this study we are going to deal with the true character of God the Father.  Not in speculation, and not from human reasonings, but from that which has already been revealed to us through the Bible and the Spirit of Prophecy--through an "it is written."
What is the character of our heavenly Father really like?
"Jesus came to represent the character of God..." That I May Know Him, p 288.

"The Lord Jesus came to strengthen every earnest seeker for truth, He came to reveal the Father." Sons and Daughters of God, p 125.

Then by looking at the life of Jesus, we can see the Father's character!  So as we read about the life of Christ, and the works of Christ, think about the Father.
"We are not to estimate the character of God by the stupendous works of nature alone, but by the simple, lovely life of Jesus, who presented Jehovah as more merciful, more compassionate, more tender, than our earthly parents.  Jesus presented the Father as one to whom we could give our confidence and present our wants.  When we are in terror of God, and overwhelmed with the thought of His glory and majesty, the Father points us to Christ as His representative.  What you see revealed in Jesus, of tenderness, compassion, and love, is the reflection of the attributes of the Father." In Heavenly Places, p 18.

"Tender, compassionate, sympathetic, ever considerate of others, He represented the character of God..." Testimonies, vol 8, p 286.

"So full of sympathy and love was His attitude that the poorest was not afraid to come to Him.  He was kind to all, easily approached by the most lowly.  He went from house to house, healing the sick, feeding the hungry, comforting the mourners, soothing the afflicted, speaking peace to the distressed.  He took the little children in His arms and blessed them, and spoke words of hope and comfort to the weary mothers.  With unfailing tenderness and gentleness He meet every form of human woe and affliction.  Not for Himself, but for others did He labor.  He was willing to humble Himself, to deny Himself.  He did not seek to distinguish Himself.  He was the servant of all.  It was His meat and drink to be a comfort and a consolation to others, to gladden the sad and heavy-laden ones with whom He daily came in contact....His love, pure and holy, blessed all who came within the sphere of its influence.  His character was absolutely perfect, free from the slightest stain of sin.  He came as an expression of the perfect love of God..." Medical Ministry, p 19-20.
As Christ was healing the sick from all manner of their diseases, how was it done?  It was a miracle of God through Christ our Mediator.  But was this all that there was to it?  Or was there more involved?
The Bible states in Matthew 8:17, that "(Christ) took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses."  And in Isaiah 63:9, that "in all their affliction he was afflicted."  So in healing the people Christ took their infirmities, He bare their sicknesses, and He Himself was afflicted.
But did our Saviour really feel their afflictions and pains as they were being healed through Him?  Did He love us so much that He would heal the people of even the worst of afflictions, even though He knew that He would feel pain by doing so?
"Christ alone was able to bear the afflictions of the many....He never bore disease in His own flesh, but He carried the sickness of others.  With tenderest sympathy He looked upon the suffering ones who pressed about Him....With a power that never quaked He cast out the evil spirits that possessed mind and body, while the pain of the sufferers thrilled through His whole being.  The power of love was in all His healing.  He identified His interests with suffering humanity....Thus He expressed His love for the children of men.  His miracles were part of His mission." That I May Know Him, p 48.

Our Saviour loved us so much that He would literally feel pain just so we could be healed of our infirmities.  I believe this is how Christ knew that someone, in all that vast crowd which pressed against Him, had been healed by just touching the hem of His garment.  And our Saviour turned no one away--no matter how bad their affliction was--"great multitudes followed Him, and He healed them all" Matthew 12:15.  Oh what love is shown here, and Christ was a representative of the Father.
"Christ came to reveal God to the world as a God of love, full of mercy, tenderness, and compassion.  The thick darkness with which Satan had endeavored to enshroud the throne of Deity was swept away by the world's Redeemer, and the Father was again manifest to men as the light of life...Christ declares Himself to be sent into the world as a representative of the Father.  In His nobility of character, in His mercy and tender pity, in His love and goodness, He stands before us as the embodiment of divine perfection, the image of the invisible God." Testimonies, vol 5, p 738-739.

Has the Father's character always been like this?  The Bible says that God changes not, but was His character ever this way, even before we were created?  Lets look at the plan of our redemption and salvation which was even before the world was created.
"The plan of our redemption was not an afterthought, a plan formulated after the fall of Adam.  It was a revelation of 'the mystery which hath been kept in silence through times eternal.'  It was a unfolding of the principles that from eternal ages have been the foundation of God's throne.  From the beginning, God and Christ knew of the apostasy of Satan , and of the fall of man through the deceptive power of the apostate.  God did not ordain that sin should exist, but He foresaw its existence and made provision to meet the terrible emergency.  So great was His love for the world, that He covenanted to give His only begotten Son, 'that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.'" Desire of Ages, p 20-21.

When we chose to sin what happened?  We were cut off from our Father; we could no longer communicate with God because of sin; satan claimed us as his subjects; and we instantly came under the penalty of death.  Why then didn't God destroy us instantly?
"He (God) has worlds upon worlds that give Him divine honor, and heaven and all the universe would have been just as happy if He had left this world to perish..." Review and Herald, March 9, 1886 (vol 2, p 26).

So if all the universe would have been just as happy if God destroyed our world, then why were we not left to perish?
"Man through sin has been severed from the life of God....The bewitching power of Satan is upon him.  All the ingenious subterfuges the devil can suggest are presented to his mind to prevent every good impulse.  Every faculty and power given him of God has been used as a weapon against the divine Benefactor.  So, although He loves him, God cannot safely impart to him the gifts and blessings He desires to bestow.
"But God will not be defeated by Satan....Justice demands that sin be not merely pardoned, but the death penalty must be executed.  God, in the gift of His only_begotten Son, met both these requirements.  By dying in man's stead, Christ exhausted the penalty and provided a pardon....He sent His Son into the world, that through His taking the human form and nature, humanity and divinity combined in Him would elevate man in the scale of moral value with God.  There is no other way for man's salvation." Selected Messages, book 1, p 340-341.

Put yourself in the Father's position if you will.  His loving power, through Christ, created man, and now man has sinned--to be eternally separated from Him--to be destroyed in justice and never to know God's true character of love and compassion.  The Father knows that He cannot command any being to save man; that only a part of Himself must be sacrificed in order to save man from destruction.  He even foresaw that only a few would appreciate this gift and be saved in the end.  What would you do?
"In redemption God has revealed His love in sacrifice, a sacrifice so broad and deep and high that it is immeasurable....When Adams's sin plunged the race into hopeless misery, God might have treated them as sinners deserved to be treated.  He might have commanded the angels of Heaven to pour out upon our world the vials of His wrath.  He might have removed this dark blot from His universe.  But He did not do this.  Instead of banishing them from His presence, He came still nearer to the fallen race.  He gave His Son to become bone of our bone and flesh or our flesh....He clothed His divine nature with the garb of humanity, and demonstrated before the heavenly universe, before the unfallen world, how much God loves the children of men.  The gift of God to man is beyond all computation.  Nothing was withheld.  God would not permit it to be said that He could have done more or revealed to humanity a greater measure of love.  In the gift of Christ He gave all heaven." Manuscript 21, 1900.

"The heart of God yearns over His earthly children with a love stronger than death.  In giving up His son, He has poured out to us all heaven in one gift." Steps to Christ, p 21.

So instead of taking Himself and eternal life away from us because of our sins, the Father still came closer to us in giving us all heaven in Christ.
"The Lord could have cut off the sinner, and utterly destroyed him; but the costlier plan was chosen. In His great love He provides hope for the hopeless, giving His only-begotten Son to bear the sins of the world.  And since He has poured out all heaven in that one rich gift, He will withhold from man no needed aid that he may take the cup of salvation, and become an heir of God, joint heir with Christ." Selected Messages, book 1, p 323.

"John cannot find adequate words to describe the amazing love of God to sinful man, but he calls upon all to behold the love of God revealed in the gift of His only begotten Son.  Through the perfection of the sacrifice given for the guilty race, those who believe in Christ...may be saved from eternal ruin....
"He (Christ) was willing to step down...and submit to insult, mockery, suffering, pain, and death, in order to answer the claims of the immutable law of God, and make a way of escape for the transgressor by His death and righteousness.  This was the work which His Father gave Him to do...Every human being should look to Heaven with reverence and gratitude, and exclaim with amazement, 'Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us." That I May Know Him, p 60.

Our loving Saviour was willing to go through all that He did in order to save us.  The things that He had to pass through for us is hard to understand with our finite minds.  Christ not only went through the first death, but He suffered the wrath of God because of our sins upon Him in order to save His followers from God's wrath which will be poured out upon the unrepentant sinner at the time of the second death.  Christ has saved us from this second death if we choose to live and reflect His life. (Please read Testimonies, vol 2, p 200-214 if you want more insight into what Christ really went through.  Other testimonies regarding Christ's experiencing and tasting the second death: Bible Commentary, vol 5, p 1102-1103, 1127; God's Amazing Grace, p 168; Sons and Daughters of God, p 81, 230, 367; That I May Know Him, p 289, 369; The Faith I Live By, p 50, 75, 97; In Heavenly Places, p 37).
"The glorious plan of man's salvation was brought about through the infinite love of God the Father.  In this divine plan is seen the most marvelous manifestation of the love of God to the fallen race.  Such love as is manifested in the gift of God's beloved Son amazed the holy angels.... Christ consented to die in the sinner's stead, that man, by a life of obedience, might escape the penalty of the law of God....In Christ was united the human and the divine." Testimonies, vol 2, p 200-201.
What is this saying to you; "that in Christ was united the human and the divine?"  What does this mean?  Christ was both God and human.  He was uniting divinity and humanity in one being.  His divinity was united with the Father and His humanity was united with us.  Are you now beginning to sense some of the tremendous love of God for us in a greater measure?  God the divine Father was personally uniting Himself in Christ, and Christ was personally uniting Himself in humanity.
"Christ is the connecting link between God and man." In Heavenly Places, p 77-78.

"...God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto Himself..." 2 Corinthians 5:19.

God the Father was uniting Himself through Christ with humanity.  What a thought.  The Father, from whom all blessings and holiness emanates, from whom sin would be instantly destroyed in His glorious presence, loved man so much that He should unite Himself, through Christ, to fallen, sinful, and wicked humanity in order to try and save man from the sin and death which he chose!
"God has adopted human nature in the person of His son, and has carried the same into the highest heaven....Heaven is enshrined in humanity, and humanity is enfolded in the bosom of Infinite Love." Desire of Ages, p 25-26.

The Father gave Himself, in Christ, to save fallen man from destruction and the power of Satan.  Who are we to deserve such amazing and infinite love from the Father and Christ?
"God gave Himself in His Son that He might have the joy of receiving back the sheep that was lost." Christ's Object Lessons, p 191.

"Because divinity alone could be efficacious in the restoration of man from the poisonous bruise of the serpent, God Himself, in His only begotten Son, assumed human nature..." That I May Know Him, p 35.

In John 14:11, Jesus states: "...I am in the Father, and the Father in me..."  How is this possible?  I don't know -- the elect of God will be studying this theme for eternity and they still will not be able to exhaust the theme of God's love for us.
"God was to be manifest in Christ, 'reconciling the world unto himself.'" Patriarchs and Prophets, p 64.

"Christ came to this world as the expression of the very heart and mind and nature and character of God." Medical Ministry, p 19.

"Christ was hid in God, and God stood revealed to the world in the character of His Son....Love for a lost world was manifested every day, in every act of His life....In Christ the light and love of God were manifested in human nature." That I May Know Him, p 288.

"God in human form has brought life and immortality to light through the gospel..." Testimonies, vol 6, p 230.

"As a personal being, God has revealed Himself in His Son." Testimonies, vol 8, p 265.

"Christ came to earth as God in the guise of humanity." Bible Commentary, vol 6, p 1053.

The Father and Jesus are so closely linked in our plan of salvation, they are as one working together.  An example of this is that we cannot come to the Father except through Jesus (see John 14:6), and we cannot come to Jesus except the Father, through the Holy Spirit draws us to Him (see John 6:44).
What tremendous love is here shown!  Overwhelming and unmeasurable love.  The Father is not holding Himself aloof from His creation, but is drawing us towards Him, through Jesus, with outstretched arms of love.
"You who feel the most unworthy, fear not to commit your case to God.  When He (Father) gave Himself in Christ for the sin of the world, He undertook the case of every soul." Christ's Object Lessons, p 174.

As the Father is so closely united in Christ with humanity, did God our Father feel the suffering that Christ's nature went through?  Did our heavenly Father love us so much that He literally suffered with Christ for our salvation and redemption?
"Justice demanded the sufferings of man; but Christ rendered the sufferings of a God." Bible Commentary, vol 7, p 913.

"The love of God was Christ's theme when speaking of His mission and His work....Well did the disciples understand this love as they saw their Saviour enduring shame, reproach, doubt, and betrayal, as they saw His agony in the garden, and His death on Calvary's cross.  This is a love the depth of which no sounding can ever fathom.  As the disciples comprehended it, as their perception took hold of God's divine compassion, they realized that there is a sense in which the sufferings of the Son were the sufferings of the Father." That I May Know Him, p 69.

"The great condescension on the part of God is a mystery beyond our fathoming.  The greatness of the plan (of redemption) cannot be fully comprehended, nor could infinite Wisdom devise a plan that would surpass it....Through this plan the great, the dreadful God can be just, and yet be the justifier of all who believe in Jesus, and who receive Him as their personal Saviour....
"God so loved the world that he gave Himself in Christ to the world to bear the penalty of man's transgressions.  God suffered with His son, as the divine being alone could suffer, in order that the world might become reconciled to Him." Review and Herald, October 22, 1895 (vol 3, p 302).

Just how much did our beloved Father suffer with our beloved Saviour?  Just how much love did He give and manifest to us?
"'In Him (Christ) dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily' (Colossians 2:9).  Men need to understand that Deity suffered and sank under the agonies of Calvary." That I May Know Him, p 70.

"No line can fathom, no measurement compute, the love revealed by the cross of Calvary....In every pang of anguish endured we behold the throes of paternal love.  The Father Himself travailed in the greatness of His almighty love in behalf of a world perishing in sin.  By the sacrifice that has been made, the gift of eternal life has been placed within the reach of every son and daughter of Adam." That I May Know Him, p 369.

Our dear heavenly Father was not just watching our Saviour suffer on the cross, He was suffering right along with Him.  He is one with Jesus and as He was united through Jesus with humanity, He felt what Jesus was going through.  The Father suffered as only God could suffer.  But this is not the end of His love, it even goes beyond this.
"Christ submitted to crucifixion, although the heavenly host could have delivered Him.  The angels suffered with Christ.  God Himself was crucified with Christ; for Christ was one with the Father." Bible Commentary, vol 5, p 1108.

Oh, my dear brothers and sisters, God so loved the world that the Father gave Himself with Christ to be crucified for our sins, that we might have eternal life and be with Him once again!  What amazing, infinite, and limitless love is here shown!  How can we even begin to measure it?  How can our finite minds begin to grasp infinite love?  The more we dwell on the Father and Jesus, the more we begin to understand the plan of our salvation, the tremendous cost they went through for us, and the love that it took to carry through with it.

The Father knew exactly what was going to happen.  He knew that He would have to suffer--not only in His physical being, but by watching His only begotten Son being beaten and horribly tortured--not by the world--but by His own professed people.  Yet those who are truly following Christ--who are living the truth as quickly as it is revealed to them--are able to call God--"our Father."  What love--beyond our earthly language!  I don't even think that heavenly language is adequate to explain it!
"We have an inexhaustible storehouse, an ocean of love in the God of our salvation.  He has placed in the hands of Christ all the treasures of the heavenly resources and says, 'All these are for man, in order to convince fallen, sinful man of My love...and that for his happiness I am working and will work.'  The happiness of man is to know God and Jesus Christ who He hath sent.  It was to make this vast treasure house of all good available that the Word became flesh and dwelt among us.  He sprinkled every gift with His own blood....The gift to our world in sending Jesus is an exhibition of His grace which God Himself cannot surpass....But one thing is impossible with God--the power of eclipsing the greatness of His gift in showing His love for fallen man." That I May Know Him, p 338.

So how much does the Father love us?
"Behold, what manner of love the Father has bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God..." 1 John 3:1.

THE SONS, and might I also add, THE DAUGHTERS OF GOD!  And how does the Father treat His children -- especially those who have fallen into sin?  Does He leave them in sin?  Does He forbid them to come back and be received again into His favor?
"And he arose, and came to his father.  But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him. And the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight, and am no more worthy to be called thy son.  But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet: And bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry: For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found." Luke 15:20-24.

So the Father does not rebuff any of His children when they recognize their sins and desire to come back to Him.  Neither does the Father proudly remain upon His throne to see if His disobedient children will come grovelling on their knees and begging for His forgiveness.  But the Father is longingly and hopefully scanning the horizon for the first signs of any of His wayward children returning to Him.  And when He first sees them a great way off He does not remain seated, but quickly leaves His throne and lovingly runs out to meet them so that He can personally embrace and kiss them Himself. Their sins are willingly forgiven them through the sacrifice of Christ.  They are truly found again, clothed in precious garments, and welcomed back with great fanfare and merriment!

Satan has tried to picture our Father as a tyrant and cruel ruler who gives no love, but demands perfect service from us.  But praise the Lord this is not true.  Truth has gained the victory over this great error of the devil.  Our Father loves us more than we can ever understand.
"When you look at the cross of Calvary you cannot doubt God's love or His willingness to save.  He has worlds upon worlds that give Him divine honor, and Heaven and all the universe would have been just as happy if He had left this world to perish; but so great was His love for the fallen race that He gave his own dear Son to die that they might be redeemed from eternal death.  As we see the care, the love, that God had for us, let us respond to it; let us give to Jesus all the powers of our being, fighting manfully the battles of the Lord." Review and Herald, March 9, 1886 (vol 2, p 26).

Our heavenly Father is not a tyrant.  Although He will justly and mercifully destroy all those who reject His offerings of love and mercy after probation closes, yet He is not a cruel and mean revengeful ruler, but He is working and doing all He can to save us from being destroyed.  And when even one person accepts, and becomes a child of God, our heavenly Father Himself joys over that one soul that decides to follow Him and is saved.
"The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; He will save, He will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in His love, He will joy over thee with singing." Zephaniah 3:17.

"The parable of the straying sheep should be treasured...The divine Shepherd leaves the ninety and nine, and goes out into the wilderness to seek the one that is lost....This speck of a world was the scene of the incarnation and suffering of the Son of God.  Christ did not go to the world's unfallen, but He came to this world, all seared and marred with the curse....We must bear in mind the great joy, manifested by the Shepherd at the recovery of the lost....And all Heaven echoes the note of joy.  The Father Himself joys over the rescued one with singing." Testimonies, vol 6, p 124-125.

This is our Father, the great and marvelous God of all, who rejoices with singing over one repentant sinner giving his whole heart to Him -- who compassionately runs out to meet and lovingly embraces every soul who desires to be saved!

Please let your heart become broken, let your love flow back to God in giving your heart and soul completely to Him through Jesus, giving up all erroneous beliefs, and then working with Him to save your fellow brothers and sisters from destruction so that they also can be lovingly embraced by their Father as soon as they return!

TO OUR SUPPORTERS: Please know that you have played an important part in helping "Let There Be Light" Ministries spread the Present Truth into various parts of this world, through the printed page, through the living full-time workers and ministers we sponsor, and through the internet.  This is how the Loud Cry of the third angel will be spread, and is now being spread!  If the Lord impresses you to help in these endeavors, your donations and prayers will be greatly appreciated, and not just by this Ministry.  MAY GOD RICHLY BLESS YOU!

MINISTRY NEEDS

"Let There Be Light" Ministries is committed to the spreading of the full present truth gospel message worldwide, and has been doing so since 1986.  This Ministry has operating expenses covering the areas of: printing, publishing, and writing of present truth books, booklets, tracts, and other literature; video and audio taping, production, and distribution; supporting several ministers and workers in foreign Countries; mail order--both domestic and foreign; traveling to hold meetings--both locally, nationally, and internationally; answering correspondence and questions regarding the message of truth; offering National and International Bible studies; sending free present truth literature to contacts in many poor Countries; etc.
Your gracious prayers and support is greatly appreciated and needed.  Without the Lord's guidance, blessings, and your support, this Ministry could not continue to reach out worldwide with the precious message of Revelation 14:6-12 & 18:1-5.

May our God and Saviour continue to lead and guide all those who have helped us reach souls who sit in darkness with the precious light of gospel truth.  May our supporters remember that they share in each and every soul who has been reached by this Ministry and converted to the Lord and His present truth!

GENERAL FOREIGN MISSION WORK NEEDS

We are currently supporting several workers in many different Countries on a monthly basis.  We check into the economy of each area and supply a base support which is adequate depending on their situation, but not extravagant.  This base support is to ensure that the monthly needs of each worker and family is met for that month so that the worker may devote full time to the ministry work.  In addition to this, we are sending extra materials for evangelism, and money for printing, publishing, holding meetings, traveling, and other necessary areas in spreading the Present Truth in their Country.  And as the work extends, especially will the expenses for evangelism expand.  Whatever you can send to help in this necessary and vital area is greatly appreciated.
The work of spreading God's present truth is not to be limited, but must extend world-wide to every nation, kindred, tongue, and people before our Saviour can come (Matthew 24:14).  What better way of spreading the present truth gospel than by having workers who speak the native language, who reside in that particular Country, who can live and preach the truth, visit the interests in their homes, and spread the printed truth translated into their common language!
"Our publications should be printed in other languages, that foreign nations may be reached.  Much can be done through the medium of the press, but still more can be accomplished if the influence of the living preacher goes with our publications....The Lord has moved upon men of other tongues and has brought them under the influence of the truth, that they might be qualified to labor in His cause." Testimonies, vol 3, p 204-205.

Please financially help us to continue supporting our current ministers and workers on a consistent basis, so that the spreading of the truth will not be interrupted but can quickly lighten this dark world with the glory of God.
"Every opportunity should be improved to extend the truth to other nations.  This will be attended with considerable expense, but expense should in no case hinder the performance of this work.  Means are of value only as they are used to advance the interest of the kingdom of God.  The Lord has lent men means for this very purpose, to use in sending the truth to their fellow men."  Testimonies, vol 3, p 208.

LETTERS to "LET THERE BE LIGHT" Ministries

Dear Elder Robert,
I'm pleased for this opportunity that the Lord has given me to share to you through this e-mail.  Now is the time to arise and prepare to receive the seal of God.  God is longing to see a united people to be His vessels to finish His work.  His character should be our model.  Heaven is prepared for a people without spot.
What am I doing in this great work of preparation remains a question in my heart.  Those whom the Lamb shall lead by the fountains of living waters, and from whose eyes He shall wipe away all tears, will be those now receiving the knowledge and understanding revealed in the Bible, the word of God.
I'm so delighted to inform you that the Abomination of Desolation and Church History book has proved to be of great deal in revealing the truth about the end time and what the devil is doing to hinder the work of the Lord.  For the last two weeks we have been studying the book with some of the elders from my former church SDA whom have come to agree that the devil is trying to bring false messages against the Bible (into the SDA church).
On this regard, I do request if possible to have more copies of the same book to give to these brothers who have proved to accept the truth of the message therein.  I'll be happy if I will get at least 4 copies of the same book in addition to the request I had made to you before.
May our good Lord bless you as you remain serving in His vineyard.
     Yours-in-the-Lord, B.K., Africa.

Dear our beloved elders in USA,
How has God kept you over there with your families together with believers?  Thanks be to God that we can communicate to each other in Jesus' name.  And He has united us, despite the normal problems, but we are fine this way.
We opened up a church e-mail, account number and box number and all are still efficient (working).  Therefore we wish to send our sincere thanks for the last two letters you sent to us on 12th and 20th June, 2007.  These included Sunday Holiness - 12 copies; God's Last Message of Mercy - 8 copies; What Must I Do to be Saved - 12 copies; Is Death to be Feared - 4 copies, etc. Glory and honour be back to God because we read the copies and distributed them to the church members.  We learnt much about the sin, ten commandments (law), prayer, clean the heart, and Jesus' death and the four angels' message of warning.
We were learning all together through questions and answers and pastor ____ (the one you sent us) has been guiding us. (2 Timothy 2:2; Acts 5:20). We pray that God provides us with the best needs of our church as we told you.  We are ready to stand in our position to fight the devil.  So pray for us.
     May God be with you.
     Yours in Jesus, E.B., Uganda.

My dear brother Elder Robert,
We would like to express our sincere gratitude for the vital information you sent us on preparations that the devil and his allies are making for the persecution of God's remnant.  Umm-mm, I think we need to pray much more than we are doing right now to beseech God for His protection and strength for each one of us to endure through such a difficult time.  Thank you very much for alerting us of the perils awaiting us.
Preparations for the International Camp Meeting are on going and we are expecting 8 members from the ____ in ____, let alone ____ which is yet to finalize on the number to attend.  ____ indicated that about 5 might attend.  The other countries are yet to give a concrete answer....
We have almost fully distributed all the booklets that we received from you, save for copies for the church members.  Thank you.
I pray that the Lord guide you throughout the entire day.  Stay well brother, and greetings to your immediate family and the church in your home.  We are well.
H.S., On behalf of the Zimbabwean home churches.

CORRESPONDENCE FROM FOREIGN WORKERS

FROM FIJI ISLANDS

(Combination of 2 letters) Dear Bro Bob,
     Psalms 55:17.
Thanks once again for your support. I have received the support money. I don't mind the decrease as long as the work go forth. The typing is in process and after that is done we will go through in proof reading, and when that is all done we will send you copies of typing before it will be sent to the printer. So let us move forward in doing His will here on earth and the Lord will surely bless us....
I have received your e-mail message and also the support money. Thank you so much. But I am very sorry of what you have been going through, I just want to encourage you brother, be strong because we are labouring for the Lord, not for wealth or fame, and I pray that He will touch the hearts and souls of the supporters....
I am doing the translation of the “Gods Last Message of Mercy to the World”. My grandson and I have been giving out tracts and going out house-to-house giving out booklets, the people are really desperate to know about the truth. For the time being I just can be printing whatever booklets the people need and giving out the English tracts and translating tracts at the same time. But as for this very important booklet “THE LATTER RAIN AND LOUD CRY OF THE ANGEL OF REVELATION 18", translation has to go forward...
May God continue to bless you.  Our prayers are always with you and the Ministry. I will continue to inform you of whatever is going on here in Fiji, so keep looking up brother.
     John 17, K.V., Fiji.

FROM KENYA, EAST AFRICA

(Combination of 3 letters) Thank you so much. My dear brother, never worry yourself so much. Trials must to come. We have but a shorter way to go now. The road might well end round the corner, and the next step we shall be home. The enemy of souls knows this, and we can be sure he will not sit idle. But brother, we have an anchor firm and grounded. Our hope is from above.  O that our Lord did come, even now.
I tell you things are harder here, the dollar is losing against the shilling in the recent past, but prices are soaring by the day! We feel it, but the Lord has His hand in it to check the temperature. This is my rest against the numerous turmoils we are lately going through. You know, it pinched so much that I had to go back home to my little cottage at least to save somehow for our subsistence. We are now three months old in the rural, and of the future I commit to the Lord.
Dearest brother Bob, God brought you to my life and you have been so much to us, and God knew better that things will one day come to this, and I believe provision has been made. Pray for me in a special way, especially for my wife that God might hold her up at this trying time. All in all I hope for the very best even in the worst of times. God is my portion. Praise be to Him for ever. Ps 104:27;136:25.
Take courage brother against all odds, and tell our brethren there are times we have to stand still and see the salvation of the Lord, and such are these. Sooner we shall have everlasting comfort, never again to mourn. Thanks be to Him that loved us more to die for us, how much more caring for us, even now. Phil. 4:19....
Thank you my dear brother for your mails and further contacts that keep coming in. This particular one concerning ____, you are not wrong to be suspicious for he is of Advent Hope that you know we have more than once clashed. However the Lord has placed him in our hands, let's pray that He might help him to see eye to eye to the truth. Pray for him.
We have been in convocation at ____, between 15th and 22nd April. We have not had such a spiritual revival as we had this time. All was at peace, with a holy solemnity prevailing on the church ground. The theme was Christ our Righteousness (1888). Our brethren from Western Kenya were of great blessing to the Church especially after the Sunami of the name controversy that ended the year. But we are happy the Lord has healed the wound sustained in 2004/5 as some who broke from us came back confessing that they had been misled into objecting to the name. Praise be to God alone. He is faithful!
We shall now have a youth camp in the first week of August. What do you think? Is it not time you visited us here, possibly as you will be coming for the Zimbabwe Camp?...Before our camp, ____, ____ and I were in ____, but our brother received us coldly, and reports following us are not very encouraging. However the church was happy and welcoming, and indeed some who had almost given up the faith responded to our call coming back to the church (our home church). God bless these souls....
Thank you brother for all your great effort to support this despised work worldwide. Thank you for all things you're struggling to do to the glory of Christ. We share with you in all these prayers.
The Lord has pledged His Word to protect His work and supply all our needs. Now, if things come this point, I believe it is not because He can nor longer bear the burden, but because He wants us to depend on Him more, claiming His pledged Word (TDWG 177). This word comforted me this morning so much, and when I received word from the bank that there is something in the account, I knew that God had answered my prayers especially for today. Our lantern had just gone off, yesterday we finished our last drop of cooking oil, let alone many other necessaries. Brother, the Lord has every good reason for all that He lets fall on us. Keep praying for us much, especially my family...
We have planned for one effort in ____ at a different site, though acts of hooliganism are increasing so much these days. Keep us in your prayers if the Lord will bless it. We have also planned another in ____, and another at ____ with God's blessings. Thank you, and be it as it may, please let us keep reading from you....
     Phil.4:4-7,19, With love, B.I., Kenya.

Elder Robert Sessler,
     1 John 3:1.
Dear Brother Sessler and all fellow remnants all over the world, I greet you in the precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Bless the Lord. This is the time of the latter rain. The Holy Spirit is with us here my fellow believers if you don't know.
We are taught in God's word that this is the time above all others when we may look for light from heaven. It is now that we are to expect a refreshing from the presence of the Lord. We should watch for the movings of God's providence as the army of Israel watched for the sound of a going in the tops of the mulberry trees - the appointed signal that heaven could work for every other.
It is to the thirsting soul that the fountains of living waters is open. God declares; "I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground" (Isaiah 44:3). "To souls that are earnestly seeking for light and that accept with gladness every ray of divine illumination from His holy word, to such alone light will be given. It is through these souls that God will reveal that light and power which will lighten the whole earth with His glory." (5T 726-729).
In fact to say the truth, last year was the year of wars (doctrinal wars), and due to this 2 to 3 centers were taken (lost to error). Some of these members have gone back to their mother churches, and some to the world. But praise to the Lord because when we thought we had lost, the Lord added us with many other centers like ____, ____ centers which are more than the ones who have gone out from us.
This year the Lord has calmed the storm; many new believers have joined. We have no battle over the name "Seventh day Remnant", (in fact) we have more invitations to attend. The Sun of Righteousness has shone more light to understand the scriptures as to the reformation steps of truth as from the Apostles up to this our time. The prophecy of Daniel 4 and the return of 1888 message in its fullness, and how to recognize the latter rain in which the church failed to receive right at Minneapolis conference, and finally the truth about fasting....The Lord says return to me with fasting (Joel 2:12) serve God with fastings and in watchings (Luke 2:37, 2 Corinthians 6:5).
All over the places or centers which we passed the sick were healed (through natural remedies and prayer). Bless the Lord for that. Because we have had precious camp meetings, but the one which we have held this year is the most precious one. I pray God to make us able to reach Zimbabwe even if it is three of us Kenyans, and I request our brethren to allow us teach 2 to 3 topics like, the Holy Spirit (the latter rain), Church History and the reformation steps of the church in the Zimbabwe world camp meeting so that we can share the same blessings which we received here in Kenya.
One point to those ones who have not accepted the name SDR, please you are shutting out yourselves the most precious food which the Lord Jesus longs to sup with His people. Some of us have tasted it, and let me tell you that it is so sweet (Revelation 3:20). Isaiah 52:1-2 -- Now shake off the dust and remove the old garment and put on the new for it is time Zech. 3:4,8.
May the Lord allow His remnant people get a share in this latter rain blessings, and may the Lord bless His work all over and cut it short in righteousness so that we may reach home quickly.
God Bless you. Yours, P.N., Kenya.

Dear Elder Robert,
General Christian greetings in Christ name. May the grace of God sustain you in all your endeavours.
l thank God greatly for the brotherly fellowship He has established between us and all whatever. When l received your information l turned to Romans 8:28 "All things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose". Whether they be good or bad, all things work together for good to them that love God. We are to accept all things as they come to us so long as we place all things before God.
"'Go forward' was the word of the Lord to Israel as they stood with the Red Sea before them and Pharaoh's host pressing hard after them. In many cases the dearth of means felt is in accordance with God's plan, that His work may be carried forward in the same way that the majesty of Heaven carried it forward. Economy, self-denial, and self sacrifice are ever to be revealed. Until the end of the time the church will have to strive with difficulties, that God's work may stand out pure and clean untainted with fraud or intrigue. Every institution God will cleanse by driving out the buyers and sellers". UL 362.
The work will not stop because of the shortage of means, the work will go forward though not speed in our eyes, but the timetable of God knows no hasty nor delay.
May God help us to be faithful in our duty.
     B.N., Kenya.

FROM THE PHILIPPINES

(Combination of 2 letters) Dearest Elder Bob,
Hi! Brother Bob. May the love of God and the grace of our Lord Jesus ever be with you and to your family.
I want to extend my deepest gratitude for helping me still financially and for every prayer. I’m always praying that our loving God will repay you good health physically and spiritually and also the rest of your family.
Last month God used me to extend the light to my old friend sunrise Sabbath keepers. Two times I’ve been with them and through God’s grace opportunity was given me so that light was shed to them. One of them told me that it is the first time that she heard such thing and so she was thankful for it. They are still willing to learn, in fact I was again invited to be with them this coming Wednesday till Saturday as they celebrate their simple gathering. I pray that they may continue to be open for the reception of the truth and that light of the messages through the working of the Holy Spirit may win them from errors especially in regard to the time reckoning as they celebrate the Sabbath from the rising of the sun till the next sunrise. May God enlighten them (to the truth of the Sabbath being from sunset to sunset).
God worked that I met my wife’s former teacher in college who was also a former active pastor of the protestant church. Again God used me to share light to him and you know he was surprised by the light that we have and have requested me to give him some copy of the study that I have shared to him. I encouraged him to visit your website for further study. I pray that he may continue to be open for more lights to come. May God bless him.
I’ve been also in our nearby town as I do my tracts distribution work and have talked to some people about the Bible. One time, I saw a house where I see a man holding a Bible, so I immediately extended my arm with the tracts in hand to give him one. He asked me what is it and quickly I told him that it’s a short message from the Bible which will also give them additional information about the word of God as they are studying. He replied me saying “we do not need any additional information from you, we are sufficient enough; we are Jehovah’s witnesses so we do not need that”. I was saddened by his attitude, but I pray for that man to change his character before it’s too late and that he may open his heart for more lights from the Bible for him to be saved. I hope that in this simple way of working may do (work) to win souls for the Lord if not now but hoping in the future or in the great harvest time. May God bless them as they read and contemplate upon the messages....
I met different kinds of sects as I work in the Lord’s vineyard, and I was really enjoying because my knowledge is increasing as I continue having a dialogue and reasoning with them especially with sect of the Davidians, Assemblies of Yahweh and the Armstrong who have some similarities of teachings.
With my family, God helped us to attend the camp meeting that was held in ____ region (Two days travel from our town). It was a very pleasant place where we rest for a while and enjoy the beauty of nature and to have feast with the word of God. We have SDA visitors and other reform individuals who were searching light that joined with us throughout the whole week of the camp meeting. Brother ____ was also there with our brethren from ____ especially from ____ represented with brother ____, with brother ____, ____ with brother ____ and ____ was also represented with brother ____. It was a very happy moment meeting with them since the year 1999 when we were separated.
Before the end of the camp meeting we did have a council meeting to consider the reconciliation of our church in ____ and ____ with our brethren in ____ (____, ____ and ____). We talked about matters on disfellowshipping an erring individual which was the cause of our separation before, the health reform, the Latter Rain and the clearing of the issue about who are with us or are we connected to those groups who do not call for a willful separation and do not hold the belief that the SDA church is Babylon. In the end we all agreed holding the same faith, we will only disfellowship those who have no sense of repentance, who are continuing in their sins, but accepting those who have truly repented and who are willing to be corrected.
Disfellowshipping an erring will not be done unless all other means of correcting the one in error has failed. Though our brethren in ____ went back eating flesh, but they are now striving to go back in obedience to the laws of health which God gives to His church. They expressed their repentance and admitted that they were deceived with their former co-workers who encouraged them to eat flesh. We also agreed that we must not wait for the latter rain because it is coming upon all who will recognize and appropriate the dew and showers of grace that fall upon us.  We also were drawing a line of distinction from those groups who do not believe that the church (SDA) is Babylon and for those who also do not believe for a willful separation because the church is Babylon.
Brother ____ also expressed his repentance of what he has done especially to you brother Bob, and he is looking forward to see you personally to ask for your forgiveness. He has done a lot of thing against you before, he said. Our brethren welcome them very warm as we announced our reconciliation and unity with ____ brethren. I pray that this unity will continue by the grace of God that we can say that we are with Christ and we are His church.  At the last days of our camp meeting we were very happy that once again God blessed us and have joined us in the whole week of the meeting, a week free from any things of the world but only with Christ.
And also the work in other place where I met a group of the Davidians and praise God they are willing to learn. In fact many times that I was given an opportunity to speak in their church. I pray that the light they heard may win and lead them to the true path with us and with Christ as our Leader.  All these experiences make me strong in the Lord and may He grant me more knowledge and wisdom from Him that I may impart it to His people inside and out of the fold.
Once again I am very thankful to you brother Bob; you are so kind brother to me and I will never forget all things.
May our loving God always be with you and also pray for your ministry.  Love you all in Christ.
Your brother in Christ, B.H., Philippines.

Dear Bro Bob,
     3 John 2.
Hi! How are you? I hope you are always in good health in the hands of our Lord. I am so sorry Bro Bob for not responding immediately to your request because I wasn’t able to open my e-mail for more or less than a month. We went to ____, ____ and we stay there that long. There is no internet connection there (and) that was the reason why I just read your letter when I get back here....
Anyway, I thank God that He provided me my needs to attend our camp meeting in ____ City, ____ last April 29-May 6. Though I can’t bring my family in the camp meeting because of the shortage of means, but still I am very happy that I was able to attend there. From ____, I traveled through bus the whole night going to ____ and from ____ I traveled by boat going to ____ for almost 24 hours. Though the travel was very tiring but I was refreshed when I saw our brethren in ____ especially those brethren from ____ who was in Grover’s group before, but now they went back to the truth. We really thank God that Bro ____, Bro ____ and some other workers and brethren who joined with Grover before are now with us again. The Lord wake them up and they had realized and confessed that Grover’s teachings are error -- especially meat eating and about the disciplinary action.
During the whole of the camp meeting, we focus our study on our pillars of doctrine like the Sanctuary and others, and received strengthening message and how to be able to receive God’s Holy Spirit. On the Saturday night, we held a council meeting and there we talk and clear (many things up) with each other (with our brethren from ____) our position, and there we saw that we all stand in the same platform of truth, so we decided to be united with them again. I hoped and pray that God will wake-up those faithful souls that are still in darkness. May He help us also to remain faithful to Him and to stand firm to the truth.
Till next letter again. May God continue to bless you and your ministry. I am sending to you together with this letter the translation of ‘Bible Separation’.
     In Christ, S.B., Philippines.

FROM UGANDA, EAST AFRICA

Elder Sessler,
Thanks a lot for your earnest counsel. It is scripturally founded, and hope when I meet him again I will share and wait his decision.
I am just getting better (from a long and serious bout with malaria and) hope God gives me the needed health. THANKS for your prayers to this person and my recovery.  Greet all God's people.
Yours in the loving Jesus, H.K., Uganda.

FROM ZIMBABWE, AFRICA

(Combination of 3 letters) Dear Elder Bob,
First,I would like to apologize for taking too long to give you my report as I was committed to some other duties. And I hope this one will find you well in the Lord.
My work for the month of March was largely based on completing translation work on the four tracts that I had namely; WHAT SHALL I DO TO INHERIT ETERNAL LIFE?, THE CURSE OF THE LAW, THE TWO LAWS, AND 100 POINTS ON THE SABBATH AND SUNDAY.  Proof reading and trying to put one of them on the computer as I have finally done and have sent it to you together with this report. However, I could have continued this work had I managed to receive the parcel of some other tracts that you sent to me. I beg your pardon once again in that we had not paid for our letter private box, a thing I later did, which had been closed. But I pray you my brother to send me again all the remaining tracts together with the newsletter for January-March edition.
I have already seen one for sister ____ and I was pleased to note that Zimbabwe has been enlisted also on the "Specific Foreign Mission Needs". Furthermore, I was very much blessed with the second part of "The Battle Over The Name 'Seventh-day Adventist'".
It's my pleasure also to report to you that as it is now widely known that I am upholding a "heretical" doctrine that Seventh-day Adventist Church is now Babylon fallen.  I then worked to secure an appointment with one of the leading ministers advocating this sermon. And this one is the leader of a certain Adventist Group linked with the Hartland Institution of the Standish Brothers. This sect defends the church by teaching that the Seventh-day Adventist Church will never be Babylon. I visited him at his work place in order that I may hold a discussion over this issue, but he turned down the appointment without any apparent reason. I then proceeded on to make another one scheduled at his home and unfortunately he again did not come home that day from work until the morrow that followed.
Now it happened that while I was waiting for him to come the Lord helped me to launch a very tough study with his wife accompanied with two families neighbouring them. I thank God that after the study the whole group managed to see the fallacy of their belief and were able to harmonize the present truth to an extent that one man of that group publicly took his decision to join the Remnant. Please pray also for this brother. Others (among them) feared their leaders to follow suit.
We did not continue with the planned baptism of 6 candidates who had lately given themselves to the Lord due to shortage of enough rains, as Zimbabwe is currently experiencing a drought spell. But I continues to nurture these souls in the truth for this time. Please pray for me and the ongoing work in Zimbabwe.
I am also busy arranging and planning for the forthcoming camp meeting and may you also consider us for financial help as we are still a small group in Zimbabwe....
I have very few words to report to you and I hope the situation is improving at your side as we are remembering always our brethren in America in our prayers. I did not continue with the work of putting some of the completed translated tracts on the computer as to what I discovered is that it takes me up to nearly US $5 to do so, and currently I am running short of money.  Therefore, my work was entirely devoted to visiting the brethren in the faith strengthening them in the Lord.
I am also happy to report to you that my efforts to win back my brother whom I used to work with have been fruitful. I went on to organize and promoting the brethren pertaining to our preparations to host the international camp meeting this year. Finally I had another showdown study this time with the church elder of the same group, and I am happy that the Lord worked to let this Elder understand the present truth....
It comes to me as a matter of deep concern that this month I shall be missing (part of my) support money due to lack of donations for the work. But, it's my pleasure once again to give you an update of the progress of work done in Zimbabwe as related to these last days.
As you are now aware that I am living in a new unentered area.  It is my desire that this area composing about 1000 citizens should be thoroughly worked. I believe that nothing just happens or coincidentally in this world that is out of notice before the Lord and that I have "come to this area for such a time (purpose) as this" for the "enlargement and deliverance of Israel." Therefore I "gather(ed) together all the Jews (brethren) that are present in Shushan (Zimbabwe) by tender appeals to fast and pray" for nearly three weeks for this noble work.
But to my surprise the Devil has already aroused prejudice in the hearts of the people through the SDA pastor who lives next to me and who knows me and what I believe. My heart sinks within me (and) I sometimes tremble as I considers what a foe I am to contend with. Preparations for this work is almost over and I am about to launch it by the beginning of June. There are several other works that I managed to do in the month of May that can not all be documented, but in keeping with the preparations to host the international camp meeting in Zimbabwe, I had to visit to and from looking for the best possible site, gathering all that is needed and so far we have managed to meet for the third consecutive time now for counsel.
My brother, I WISH TO FINISH THIS REPORT BY ENCOURAGING YOU TO KEEP FOCUSED for the days are being numbered. I shall continue to pray for you and the noble work that by the grace of God you managed to accomplish, and please remember me for support in this work as the Lord continues to open the way....
Yours in the blessed name, K.M., Zimbabwe.
